Navigating Group Reporting: An Insight into the Consolidation Monitor

The Consolidation Monitor is the central command centre in SAP Group Reporting — streamlining oversight of consolidation, validation, currency translation and reporting.

The Consolidation Monitor is a centralised component within SAP Group Reporting, designed to streamline and elevate the oversight of financial consolidation — empowering users to monitor, track and execute diverse consolidation tasks across the organisation.

Key features

Organisational structure display — hierarchical representation of units vertically, with overall status and tasks horizontally, down to consolidation level. Customisable layout — personalise by group structure (set focus, adjust task column widths, filter task statuses) and save settings. Task execution — all tasks initiate from Initial Stage and execute via update runs, test runs or context menus; tasks are blocked after successful completion. Period management — open and close fiscal-year periods selectively (closed by default for precision). And seamless transition between the Consolidation Monitor and Data Monitor.

Capabilities

Combine financial data from multiple sources, validate accuracy, translate currencies, create comprehensive reports, manually adjust data, balance inter-entity transactions, control task changes, manage time periods, access organisational detail, and correct processing errors.
