SAC's Q4 2023 release adds data-upload model creation, compound formula support, geo-enrichment, dimensions without master data, and larger parent-child hierarchies.
SAP Analytics Cloud integrates analytics and planning by connecting with SAP applications and various data sources, enabling decision-making through reliable insight and integrated planning. The Q4 2023 release increases flexibility and agility with several new modelling capabilities.
Data-upload model creation
The update separates data transformation from the import process, so users can modify or re-wrangle data more easily as needed — strengthening flexibility in data-management workflows.
Compound formula support
This combines LOOKUP, RESTRICT, YOY, SMA and CAGR formulas into single calculated measures, eliminating the need for multiple formulas to achieve the same outcome.
Geo-enrichment for dimensions
The optimised design experience now supports area-enriched dimensions with geographical properties (Country/Region, Region, Sub-Region), limited to one Region instance per dimension.
Dimensions without master data & larger hierarchies
The New Model type supports creating dimension hierarchies, incorporating timestamps and planning on dimensions without master data — promoting agile, self-service models. The previous 150,000-member limit for parent-child hierarchies has been eliminated, now supporting up to 1 million members through wrangling imports.
