Why Upgrade to SAP BPC?

Upgrading to the latest version of SAP BPC can help organizations improve financial planning and analysis processes, reduce manual effort, and ensure ongoing support and compliance with regulatory requirements. There are several reasons and benefits for upgrading SAP BPC:

Improved Performance: Upgrading to the latest version of SAP BPC can improve system performance, enabling faster planning, consolidation, and reporting processes. This can help organizations make better decisions more quickly, improving their overall agility and competitiveness.

Enhanced Functionality: Newer versions of SAP BPC offer enhanced functionality and features, providing users with more powerful tools to streamline financial planning and analysis processes. This can help organizations improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and gain better insights into their financial performance.

Better Integration:Upgrading to the latest version of SAP BPC can improve integration with other SAP and non-SAP systems, allowing for more seamless data exchange and reducing the need for manual data entry. This can help organizations improve data accuracy, reduce errors, and gain better visibility into their financial performance.

Improved Security:Newer versions of SAP BPC offer improved security features, helping to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This can help organizations reduce the risk of data breaches and avoid costly penalties for non-compliance.

Continued Support:SAP provides support and maintenance for a limited time for older versions of its software. Upgrading to the latest version ensures continued support, with access to patches, updates, and technical support. This can help organizations reduce the risk of downtime, ensure data integrity, and avoid costly support fees for outdated software.

The Risks of Not Upgrading

If SAP BPC is not upgraded, several risks can occur. Firstly, SAP provides support and maintenance for a limited time for older versions of their software. Without access to support, organizations may be unable to resolve issues or receive updates, leading to system downtime and decreased productivity. Secondly, Older versions of SAP BPC may not be able to handle large volumes of data or complex planning and consolidation processes, leading to slower performance and decreased productivity. In addition, older versions of SAP BPC may have security vulnerabilities that can be exploited by attackers, potentially leading to data breaches, financial losses, and reputational damage.

NOTE: SAP’s maintenance plan to support SAP Business Planning and Consolidation 11.1, version for SAP BW/4HANA 2.0 until 31.12.2024, and SAP BPC Maintenance is described in Figure 1 for whole BPC products. According to SAP’s Product Availability Matrix, maintenance for SAP BPC 10.1 for SAP BW 7.5 will continue until the end of 2027. After that, customers can opt for an extended maintenance period until the end of 2030.
